Photo Love

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” — Aaron Siskind

I did not take these pictures for artistic purposes so much as I did just to remember the day. It was my first time experiencing the Taste of Chicago, despite having been living in Chicagoland for the past 20 years. My mother insists that our family went a few times when my siblings and I were younger, but I do not remember that at all (probably due to the lack of photographic evidence! Ha!)

Either way, though, I will forever be perplexed by the irony of memory; how we struggle to retain the moments dearest to us while at the same time fighting off memories that used to be dear to us. Obviously, pictures can be of monumental aid in the former scenario. As for the latter, I have yet to find anything better than the peace that comes from prayerful patience and God-given endurance.
