Photoshop Filters

Photoshop filters are generally pretty dorky. But, per request, here are some examples of some. Even though it is pretty cliché to use them, sometimes you can create some pretty nifty looking images.

I got this shot whilst hiking for forty minutes up a giant hill to get close to the Hollywood Sign. I find it funny that this is one of my favorite pictures from that hike, even though it does not provide a clue as to the location.

Stained Glass (a texture filter):

Filters like these are more commonly used for graphic design - posters, bulletins, advertisements and the like- as opposed to purely photographic purposes. Personally, any time I am considering using filters for enhancing images just for the heck of it, I generally live by the mantra “less is more.” Although, I am partial to the concept of Andy Warhol-esque images which intense filters can definitely help out with.
